Be Prepared Before a Natural Disaster like a Flood.

An emergency or natural disaster can happen at any time and when it does, time is of the essence! So get prepared in advance.

Thanks to the Pet Poison Helpline website, below are the 5 things you will need to safely evacuate with your pet.

 

5 Items to Safely Evacuate with Your Pet

  1. Identification: Up-to-date tags and/or microchip.

  2. Safe Location: Know the options for you and your pets before a disaster strikes.

  3. Stay Together: Keep pets leashed or in secure carriers.

  4. Make a Kit for Your Pet: Food/treats, water, medications, copies of vet records, poop bags, leashes, harnesses and collars, towels and a Pet 1st Aid Kit. (Use the handy checklist below.)

  5. Who to Contact: In case you are away from your when a disaster strikes! Also agree in advance where you will meet up to retrieve your pets.
