Welcome to MobilityDog
At MobilityDog, we believe in putting the FUN into FUNctional independence—where dogs and people come together to transform mobility through dignity, and empowerment.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Pasadena, devoted to raising, training, and matching service dogs—primarily standard poodles—for individuals with mobility disabilities to improve quality of life and restore independence.
We imagine a world where adults and seniors with mobility disabilities can lead vibrant, independent lives—supported by mobility tools through both service dog and non-dog programs—ensuring access for all.
You are welcome to come to our Birthday Pawty and open house on October 4, 2025 from noon to 3:00 pm at our Pasadena, office.
MSD-WCP’s goal is to fill a desperate need: many people living with disabilities aren’t able to receive a mobility service dog because there aren’t enough of these trained dogs and they are too expensive. Our goal is to provide a service dog to all those who qualify. MSD-WCP is the ability in disability!
What Services Does MobilityDog Offer?

MEET MobilityDoG Founder and eXecutive Director Janie Lynn HEINRICH
Janie Lynn Heinrich is the Executive Director of MobilityDog. After a spinal cord injury in 2010 left her using a wheelchair, Janie partnered with her first service dog, Phoebe, to regain mobility and independence. Facing age-related barriers in acquiring a new service dog, she established MobilityDog in 2018 to support others encountering similar challenges. Under her leadership, MobilityDog has matched over 40 service dog teams and offers programs like PAWS and WAG to educate and empower the community. Janie's commitment extends beyond the organization; she serves as a Commissioner on Pasadena’s Accessibility & Disability Commission and is an active member of the International Association of Canine Professionals. Her journey exemplifies resilience and dedication to creating inclusive communities. Learn more abut Janie.
