For our Service Dogs-in-Training (SDiTs), we are proud to report that all of our pups-in-training have passed the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, and our adolescent dogs-in-training have passed the Canine Good Citizen (CGC). All pups are graduating through each stage of their training and are on their way to becoming future service dogs.

Doggie Masterpieces
First Saturday was filled with delightful Doggie Masterpieces
Every first Saturday of the month, MobilityDog’s community of Service Dog (SD) and Service Dog in Training (SDiT) teams get together to enhance their skills, bond with their SD/SDiT, and connect with fellow participants.
On this particular Saturday, our SD/SDiT Teams spent time creating these adorable masterpieces. The room was filled with joy and the boundless creativity of puppies.
These are available for a $50.00 donation; pick your favorite Masterpiece donation by one of MobilityDog's SD artists.

Big Sur, California Folk-Tales and Condors
Sometimes, I just want to sit on the edge of the earth and breathe in the ocean, clouds, trees, and birds caught in the energy of the gentle cadence of waves, wind, and misty fog whirling. In my ti-lite wheelchair, with SD Beckett at my side or using my arm crutches, Nepenthe at The Phoenix, a wee dash north of the Henry Miller Library, allows me to enter the clouds. They offer an upper parking lot that avoids the 2 flights of 8 stairs to park and enter Nepenthe, via an intentionally inviting concrete ramp that lands me on the deck of Nepenthe!
I observe the condors play, the red-headed woodpeckers forage, and the waves break with dramatic crashing and white spray as I sit, allowing every cell to just be present, absorbing all the magic that nature brings us along the northern California coast. It is rugged and peaceful. Ease on in…
We like to arrive in the early morning hours, when you can sit on the Nepenthe and ask the staff or your people to order up tea or coffee from the menu on the first floor, which is not accessible. Dinner reservations are strongly suggested for the Nepenthe. Big Sur State Campgrounds have nice, handicap-accessible bathrooms and sites, and there are accessible rooms at the local haunts if you say “I require…” when booking.
Wishing you a beautiful moment to just be, bring a book and binoculars, and make it a day- food is great!!
