Welcome to 2026: Let's Make It Unforgettable Together
We look forward to all that we will experience and embrace as we stroll into 2026 with aplomb!
MobilityDog Attending the Tournament of Roses
Carlos Benavides, MobilityDog Board of Trustees and President of the LA County Commission on Disabilities; Rex Richardson, Long Beach Mayor; Guillermo Medina, L.A. County's Aging and Disabilities Department
January 1st found us truly weathering the storm, with laughter, smiles, and plenty of raindrops, as honored guests of the Tournament of Roses in the ADA Section. From our vantage point, we cheered on the breathtaking floats, magnificent horses, and spirited marching bands. MobilityDog's CEO, Janie Heinrich, was honored to serve on the Rose Parade Outreach Team for the third consecutive year, working alongside the ADA crew to help set up and support ADA viewing sections, ensuring greater accessibility for people of all disabilities.
Board of Trustees Update
We are delighted to be expanding our Board of Trustees to broaden our reach and deepen our impact within the community.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Carlos Benavides. Commissioner Benavides is a longtime disability rights advocate and President of the LA County Commission on Disabilities, focused on equity and access for all. His service dog, Vito, from MobilityDog, is a vital partner who enhances his independence and ability to lead.
In addition to Carlos, we plan to welcome several more board members throughout 2026. If you know of an individual who would be a strong fit for our mission and values, please contact us at info@mobilitydog.org.

ADA Accessible Friendly Adventures
January 2026 Winner
Peterson Automotive Museum, Los Angeles, California
After a lovely morning of card games with our grandchildren, we set off on an adventure to the Petersen Automotive Museum using our pre-purchased tickets. What an incredible day it turned out to be, filled with joy, exploration, laughter, and storytelling as we imagined which ancestors might have driven which cars!
It was an unexpected and truly fabulous experience, and we can’t wait to return to enjoy more of the interactive exhibits. A real gem, and conveniently accessible by Metro, just west of the La Brea Tar Pits. Hope to run into you at the Petersen Museum one day! 🚗✨
