YOU DREAM of the freedom to go anywhere and traveling vibrantly with just a scan of a card! You want transparency with each airline, restaurant or place you enter. Currently, the United States does not have an established method for recognizing in public places people who are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act.  MSD-WCP would like to create and legitimize an Access Card for YOU, people with disabilities. The purpose of the ADA CARD is to not create more barriers but to give dignity and honor to all of us who have a disability. We never want to have you with silent disabilities limit your adventures because of a person who is uneducated stop you in mid-motion as you enter the concert venue, fancy dancy restaurant, hotel, or opera. It is something that when you are tired and exhausted from the constant eye rolling and extreme ignorance you can show it to them and hand them your greeting card to have a conversation later so you will get an opportunity to educate! It is something you can show when traveling or when going to a restaurant, or entering a business that will give added support for those days you just don’t want to explain it one more time. A tool and added piece if needed to make the day just flow nicely while you are working with service dog, wheelchair, or other tools for functional independence.

OUR DREAM is to make disabled people’s lives more user-friendly and easier, be it in their circle of daily routine, or in greater domestic or international travels. We are in the process of working with representatives from California to write legislation that will make this card legally acceptable. In order to prepare this legislation, we need 500 individuals to apply for, qualify for and use our Grassroots ADA Access Card. Once we have collected stories of the benefits from using the card, we will use them to co-author proposed legislation to legitimize the card. It is not to change any laws, it is just to have back up for those more challenging and difficult humans who have the power to make decisions regarding your right for a user friendly pathway.
